Biography
Dr. Ming Dao is the Principal Investigator and Director of MIT’s Nanomechanics Laboratory, and a Principal Research Scientist in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. He published more than 110 peer-reviewed SCI journal papers (averaging more than 50 citations per paper), and delivered more than 90 invited presentations in research conferences, workshops and leading research institutions around the world. He was named Singapore Research Chair/Professor of Bioengineering and Infectious Disease by MIT in 2012, and received twice the best paper award from Japan Institute of Metals and Materials (2006 & 2013). He chaired or co-chaired 11 symposiums/workshops.
Research Interest
His broad interdisciplinary research interests include nanomechanics of advanced materials, mechanics of nanoindentation, cell biomechanics and biophysics, malaria, sickle cell disease, and cancer.
