Biography
Dr. Genda Chen has completed his PhD at the age of 30 years from the State University of New York at Buffalo and continued his postdoctoral study before he joined Steinman Consulting Engineers for bridge design, inspection, and construction support. He is the director of System and Process Assessment Research Laboratory. He has published more than 120 papers in reputed journals (out of 350 publications total and 3 patents) and has been serving as an editiorial board member of four reputed journals. He will chair the 9th ISHMII International Conference, St. Louis, 2019.
Research Interest
Structural health monitoring (sensors, sensing systems, data analysis, and nondestructive testing/evaluation), structural control (active, semi-active, and passive systems), interface mechanics and deterioration, bridge engineering, and multi-hazard effects on transportation infrastructure.
